Current focus: authentic storytelling (in all media), book design, identity design, hand lettering, baking naturally leavened bread, clawhammer banjo and epic road trips. Always focused on belly-laughing.

Some professional highlights: I’ve been lucky enough to work with the brands that defined authenticity and transparency in brand storytelling. Back when print was king, I led the creative on and/or designed a whole bunch of mail order catalogs (Patagonia, Toad&Co and Black Diamond most notably), then some nice eCommerce sites (Patagonia, Nau, Horny Toad and Toad&Co among others). I've designed a lot of logos/identities, worked on a game-changing campaigns (Don’t Buy This Jacket and Vote the Environment, and led the creative on the rebrands of Toad&Co from Horny Toad Activewear and Black Diamond from Chouinard Equipment. While I was Marketing Director at Patagonia, we received the AIGA Corporate Design Leadership Award.

Great work is rarely a solo effort. Credits are included on the work shown on this site - just hit the info button on the top right. I wish more folks did that. For the record, I give my clients a lot of credit too. Feel free to contact any of the talented people listed. Tell ’em who sent ya.
